5 Ways To Keep Your Vehicle In Top Shape

It does not matter if you take your used Vitz car to the shop on a regular basis or service it yourself, it is important to make sure that you keep your vehicle in top shape in order to prolong the life of it.  Maintenance is a priority regardless of where you get your car from - the local car lot or from a Japanese used car exporter.  Keeping your Raum in good shape will maximize the way it performs and save you money in the future.

So what are the five ways to keep your vehicle in shape?

1. Check your brakes regularly and do not wait until there are signs of problems with your brakes to get them fixed.  If you start to hear a high pitched squeal when you step on the brakes, they do not respond the way they should, you hear and feel a metallic grinding sound, or the brake pedal sinks to the floor, you have a problem.  It is time to get your brakes changed, and if you let the brakes go for too long you may have to replace the rotors as well.

2. Always make sure the following fluids are monitored and kept filled at all times: oil; transmission fluid; anti-freeze; power steering fluid; brake fluid; and windshield washer fluid.  Additionally, always make sure that your gas gauge is functioning properly and that you have an adequate amount of gas in the tank before leaving on a long trip.

3. Keep your tires in good condition by making sure they are properly inflated at all times and that the tread is the proper depth.  If the tires are designed for spring and summer driving, make sure you change them before winter sets in and vice versa.  This helps extend the life of your tires.

4. Get regular oil changes every 3,000 miles to make sure your vehicle runs at top efficiency.  By changing your oil filter and oil, you remove all of the contaminants that have built up in your carユs engine.  This helps you avoid problems with acceleration, low gas mileage, and poor engine performance.

5. When you change your oil and oil filter, change your air filter as well.  A dirty air filter can have the same effect on your car.  If you notice your car is not performing the way it should be, check your air filter.  You may need to change it sooner than every 3,000 miles.
